Uncle Bill's Recruitment Agency (Pty) Ltd ("Uncle Bill's", "we", "us", or "our") is a recruitment agency registered in South Africa. We operate as a Responsible Party under POPIA in respect of personal information collected through our website, services, and business operations.

We collect personal information directly from you and, in limited circumstances, from third parties such as reference providers or background check services.

We process personal information only for the specific, lawful purposes for which it was collected.

• Matching candidates to suitable employment opportunities and submitting your profile to prospective employers with your knowledge and consent
• Conducting background checks, reference verifications, and qualification checks (with your consent)
• Communicating with you about live vacancies, placement progress, and career guidance
• Complying with our legal obligations under POPIA, the Labour Relations Act, and other applicable legislation
• Processing client mandates and managing employer relationships
• Improving our website and services through anonymous analytics
• Sending relevant industry updates or service communications (you may opt out at any time)

We do not sell or trade personal information. We share it only in the following limited circumstances:

• Prospective Employers: We share candidate profiles only with your knowledge, for specific, identified opportunities
• Background Check Providers: Where you have consented to verification checks
• IT Service Providers: Hosting, email, and CRM providers who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements
• Legal Authorities: Where we are required to disclose information by law or court order
• APSO or Regulatory Bodies: As required for compliance and professional standards

Upon expiry of the applicable retention period, personal information is securely deleted or anonymised. You may request earlier deletion at any time — see Section 7.

In the event of a data breach, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA — within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach where feasible.

Our services are intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at unclebillssa@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

We primarily process and store personal information within South Africa. Where information is processed in other countries, we ensure the receiving party:

• Is subject to laws that provide an adequate level of protection equivalent to POPIA, or
• Is bound by a written agreement requiring POPIA-equivalent protections, or
• Has your express consent to the cross-border transfer

When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Notify active candidates and clients via email where required
• Display a prominent notice on our website for a period of 30 days
